What movies evoke a sense of nostalgia for you? What makes those movies so memorable for you? Do they evoke certain memories, either about subject matter of the movie or about the first time you watched it (or anything else)?
The movie that recent gave me a sense of nostalgia -- and inspired this episode -- was the original Karate Kid movie. I was around ten when it first came out, though I was probably in my early teens when I actually saw it, since I watched it either on video or on television. I admired (and probably had a crush on, though I didn't realize it at the time) Ralph Macchio's character.
Watching the movie earlier this week also served as a reminder of what life was like in the 80's. I remember as both Daniel and Allie climbed into the front seat of the Larusso's station wagon that this was a time when cars still came equipped with bench seats and it was not unusual to squeeze a third person there.
